Conflict
In southern Norway, any Axis line of advance had to parallel the existing road system due to terrain and weather. Taking advantage of these restrictions, the Allies based their defense on a series of roadblocks supported by flanking fire from surrounding high ground. A hasty defense near the village of Otta with units from the newly arrived British 15th Brigade soon was tested. . .
