Doomed Battalions

Doomed Battalions was the eleventh and last ASL module published by Avalon Hill. It contained Allied Minors infantry, support weapon, vehicle and ordnance counters.

When Doomed Battalions was republished by MMP in 2010, the boards and scenarios from The Last Hurrah were included.

Errata (1st Edition)

Board 45:

  • Hex N8 should have a regular centre-dot not a large dot

Counters:

  • Vehicle Note 15 T-13 Type II: Counters (and the illustration in the Note) should indicate that the vehicle is radioless
  • Vehicle Note 20 M3A3(a): Counters (and the illustration in the Note) should show superior turret armor for the side/rear facing not for the front facing
  • Vehicle Note 27 M.38: Counter B show show the MA as "37L" not "37"
  • Vehicle Note 36 VCL Utility(b): Counter and listing should show that the vehicle is fully-tracked not wheeled
  • Ordnance Note 10 C75 TR: Counters A-C 9 (and the illustration in the Note) should show the gun calibre as overscored
  • Ordnance Note 13 C120 M31: Counter A (and the illustration in the Note) should show the gun calibre as overscored

Replacement counters:

  • US M4 18-Ton High Speed Tractor (originally provided in Kampfgruppe Peiper II): Counter should show AAMG for its MA with 2 ROF

Chapter H:

  • Vehicle Note 2 Vickers Edw(b): The VCA of the vehicle in the diagram should be facing the squad (rotate 120 degrees CCW)
  • Vehicle Note 30: Replace "D1.51" with "D1.41"
  • Ordnance Notes 4, 7, 11, 21, 22 and 32: The illustrations in the Notes for these Guns should show their gun calibre as overscored
  • Ordnance Note 28: Replace "towed AA guns" with "towed AT Guns"
  • Ordnance Note 36: Replace "Note 41" with "Note 21"
  • Ordnance Note 34: Mitrailleuse de 13.2 CAJ mle 30, in B# column add "11"
